TRIPLEX APARTMENT RENO

This building was originally a carriage house built in the late 1800's. It was later converted to a rooming house, which was part of the original Manor Hotel, now the Hampton Court Retirement Home.

In 1953, the Buckton family purchased the building and converted it into an apartment complex, with 3 separate apartments. Bob Buckton acquired the building after his mother passed, and has been maintaining it since then.

Bob contracted us in 2020 to do a complete renovation of the building. This very large project involved a complete gutting, with all new wiring, plumbing, insulation, drywall, windows & doors, flooring, siding, soffit & facia. We also dramatically reconfigured each apartment, moving all three kitchens in order to provide a better layout, additional cabinets for storage, and a more comfortable living space overall. A full update to the mechanical and laundry rooms was also done. Lastly we replaced and extended the existing concrete pad added a new one at the front with patio stones.

"I was looking at either selling the building that's been in my family since the '50's, or doing a renovation because it was in need of major repairs. After meeting with Home Installs, I decided to go ahead with renovating. I was able to tell them my ideas and they used their knowledge and experience to come up with the best solutions.

Going ahead with it during Covid-19 with tenants in the building at the time was a challenge, but the Home Installs Team was able to accommodate us. And they looked after everything, from removing all appliances and fixtures, to dealing with the gas service and all the rest. I was totally comfortable letting them run the entire project.

Whenever we came across unforeseen issues, as you do during a reno, they let me know what they'd found and how they planned to deal with it. I always knew what was happening during the entire process, from beginning to end.
